Engagement Process: Simply contact me by email to express your interest in our turnkey approach. During our initial conversation, I will explain the first steps in detail.
Step 1: Fact-Finding Meeting: Gather 2 or 3 other families supportive of this idea for a fact-finding meeting that you can host in your home. I will join that meeting via Zoom to explain the startup process.
Step 2: Facility Consideration: Start thinking about a facility that could house the classrooms. Many churches in your area may have the space and availability for a micro-school. An initial contact with those churches will provide contact information for future follow-up.
Step 3: Research Existing Groups: Find out what homeschooling groups and co-ops already exist in your area. This will give you insights into the local education landscape and potential collaborative opportunities.
What does Turnkey mean in the context of our project?
Turnkey implies that everything needed for launching a site is included in our support of the launch director and team. This includes legal, financial, and accounting services, administration and management support, classroom coaching, parent training, curriculum development, on-campus activities, and off-campus guidance.
What responsibilities does the launch director and team have?
The launch director and team handle aspects such as selecting the location, community communication, initial student enrollment, and establishing contacts with community homeschooling groups. Parental communications and coaching are also provided by the launch team as well.
To make the local micro-school a success, we need several families interested in enrolling their students. The core team members will emerge from these interested families. We'll collaborate with them to offer a complete micro-school startup solution. Your initial move is to reach out via email, and we'll furnish you with further information.
Absolutely! Traditional homeschooling can seem overwhelming, but rest assured, you can successfully educate your students in a hybrid micro-school environment. Our team specializes in equipping parents to engage and succeed. Home education is the fastest-growing segment in U.S. education, with thousands of parents like you choosing to educate their children at home each year. Many of them rely on a hybrid home education approach to make it possible.
Regarding the resources we require from the families we serve, the Florida Department of Education offers nearly $8,000 per student per year through the Step Up for Students scholarship program (ESA). Home-educated students may qualify for and use these scholarships to cover their tuition and other educational expenses.
We begin by asking ourselves: What should an 8th grader know and be able to do after nine years in our hybrid home education micro-school?
We believe our students should be self-directed and self-motivated. They should know how to learn and research effectively and embody all 10 of our Character Building Blocks in their lives. They should have mastery of the life skills presented throughout their nine years at our micro-school and understand their unique learning style.
Students must master the basic academic subjects: Language Arts & Communication, History and Current Events, Science, and Mathematics. They should also recognize what sparks their curiosity and have explored various ways people earn a living to support and care for their families.
Once we establish these criteria, we trace back to kindergarten to focus on building these outcomes. In partnership with parents, our micro-school team dedicates time to developing these results, avoiding distractions from other subjects many schools emphasize.
Unlike traditional public or private schools, we concentrate on creating an environment conducive to quality learning. Many traditional schools expend significant energy managing disorder and chaos in classrooms, playgrounds, and hallways. We prioritize maintaining a peaceful classroom environment, working extensively with both parents and students to achieve this goal.
We believe that religion or faith issues are best decided by the parents. If these are important to you, we respect and honor that. We encourage you to seek out ministerial guidance and direction from your faith community. Religion and faith teaching can be easily incorporated into your off campus instruction. Lifepoint Hybrid Home Education focuses on character and life skills development without any religious motivation.
Lifepoint is currently planning a K-5 North Naples campus and needs to put together a launch team for that location. If you are interested, please contact me for details.
